How to Know If Your Relationship Is One Sided

There's no use in trying to deny when a relationship is one sided. You feel like you put everything that you can into trying to make things work, and him... well, he just seems to take and take while you give and then give some more. Deep down inside, you know when you are in a one sided relationship, but sometimes it takes a while before you really let the reality of it set in.
It hurts to feel like you are being taken advantage of, it can be downright torturous when that person taking advantage of you is someone you love and would do just about anything for. If you are getting taken for a ride by your boyfriend and you want to know if you are right or if it just feels that way, keep reading.
Here are some pretty clear signs that you are in a one sided relationship:
1. He tunes you out every time that you want to talk seriously about things.
No relationship can just remain dormant and be expected to thrive. You have to constantly work on it to make it better, and that is something that you already know. However, your boyfriend seems to think quite the opposite. He does not want to talk about things at all, even when it means a lot to you. This is classic self centered behavior, and it is an undeniable sign that you are in a one sided relationship. While it is true that guys tend to be less talkative about relationship issues, the fact that he never wants to talk about them at all is a sign that he's probably less into the relationship than you are.
2. You are expected to carry out all of the responsibilities while he goes out to play.
Are you the one that has to take care of all the domestic duties, balance the budget and make sure that everything runs smoothly? While you are doing all of those things, trying your best to be a "superwoman," is he out playing around and hanging out with his buddies? If so, then you already know that the relationship is one sided and all the weight seems to be on your side of things.
3. You do things to show him that you care, while he seems to act like he could care less about you.
I don't know why so many women get caught up in this cycle, but it seems to happen too often. All the while you are doing little things just to let him know that you care about him, he just seems to have an attitude that he could care less about you If that is the case, then you may want to admit that the relationship is one sided and he may not be so great after all.
I can't tell you what to do if you find that your relationship is one sided. Only you can make that decision, because you are the one that has to deal with it day in and day out. Just know that there are many men out there that don't mind putting in their efforts into a relationship, and while you probably can never truly have an equal 50/50 balance, you can come quite close to it.
